I have written a number of books on both the gospel and end-time events. Each of my seminars is based on one or more of these books. All those listed below are currently available. With the exception of The Gospel vs. Legalism, I do not sell these books myself. You can purchase them by going to your nearest Adventist Book Center, by calling 800-765-6955, or on line at www.AdventistBookCenter.com and entering the title of the book in the "Search" field. The Crisis of the End Time
The full title of this book is The Crisis of the End Time: Keeping Your Relationship With Jesus in Earth's Darkest Hour. The purpose of the book is to give an overview of the Seventh-day Adventist understanding of the end time with an emphasis on the gospel as the way to prepare for the final crisis. The topics covered include Sunday laws, the 144,000, the seal of God, the mark of the beast, the latter rain, the shaking, the loud cry, the close of probation, the battle of Armageddon, and the second coming of Christ, among others. The book uses both  the Bible and Ellen White as inspired authorities. It has 253 pages.

The Coming Great Calamity
Both the Bible and Ellen White inform us that the world will be faced with a terrible crisis just before the second coming of Jesus. The prophet Daniel called this period of earth's history "a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then" (Daniel 12:1). This time of distress will be caused by terrible natural disasters, which Ellen White described in some detail. These disasters, in turn, will open the way for people to accept God's final warning. They will also bring about the final conflict between good and evil, the result of which will be fierce persecution against God's people. The book is based on both the Bible and Ellen White. It has 190 pages.

How to Think About the End Time
For years I've been aware of a number of misconceptions about the end time that are held by some Adventists. Some of these misconceptions are destructive of a healthy Christian experience. The letters, emails, and phone calls that I received after becoming editor of Signs of the Times in 1994 further called my attention to these and other misconceptions. I finally decided to write a book analyzing these misconceptions and guiding the reader to better ways to think about the end time. Because many of our misconceptions about the end time arise out of statements made by Ellen White, she figures prominently in the book, along with the Bible. The book has 221 pages.

Forever His
I enjoy talking about the end time, but I find the greatest pleasure in leading men and women to understand the good news of righteousness by faith
both the assurance of our salvation through Jesus Christ and the pathway to victory over sin. The full title of this book is Forever His: How to have a joyful and unbroken relationship with Jesus. An additional subtitle says, "Practical advice from the book of Romans." As the second subtitle suggests, Forever His presents the gospel of salvation as Paul outlined it in the first eight chapters of his letter to the Christians in Rome. While Ellen White's understanding of righteousness by faith has contributed significantly to my views on the topic, this book is strictly a biblical study. I do not mention or quote Ellen White even once. Thus, the book is very appropriate to share with non-Adventist friends and relatives. It has 191 pages.

Conquering the Dragon Within

The full title of this book is Conquering the Dragon Within: How to overcome temptation through a relationship with Jesus. The first third of the book is on justification. It explains the sinner's relationship to Jesus when he first comes to Him and as he progresses in his victory over sin. The last two thirds of the book, on sanctification, offers practical advice for overcoming besetting sins. It analyzes sin in the light of modern addiction theory, and the concepts of the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous form a significant part of the suggestions for victory. I also use Ellen White as an authority throughout. A series of charts helps to clarify the organization of the book visually. It has 300 pages.

The Gospel vs. Legalism
The full title of this book is The Gospel vs. Legalism: How to Deal With Legalism's Insidious Influence. It is an overview of Galatiansa church established by Paul in the first century A.D. that experienced a major problem with Jewish legalism. Paul's treatment of the law in GaIatians has caused considerable consternation among Adventists, because the "schoolmaster" verses in chapter 3:24, 25 seem to suggest that the law was done away with at the cross. The book analyzes these statements carefully and points out Paul's real meaning, which has nothing to do with abolishing the law. The last several chapters are about Adventist legalism and how to deal with it both in one's own life and in one's relationships with legalists. The book as 191 pages. It is out of print and is no longer available at Adventist Book Centers. However, I have several dozen copies available for purchase. Please send a $12 check (includes shipping costs) to:

The Coming Global Crisis
The full title of this book is How to Prepare for the Coming Global Crisis: A Spiritual Survival Guide. It was the Adventist Church's sharing book of the year for 2001. The first three chapters discuss the nature of crises in our personal and community life. The rest of the book is an easy-to-read presentation of the gospel of righteousness by faith, including both justification and sanctification. The book is ideal for sharing with your non-Adventist friends. It has 128 pages.

The Antichrist and the New World Order

The purpose of this book is to share the key aspects of the Adventist understanding of the end-time with the non-Adventist reader. It is a mini-version of the last part of Ellen White's The Great Controversy, but in language and with evidence from the twentieth century rather than the nineteenth. The tone is respectful of both Catholics and Protestants. At the same time, it presents forthrightly why Adventists believe the mark of the beast will be fulfilled by Sunday laws, how spiritualism is linked to our human condition in death, and why spiritualism will be a key end-time issue. The book has 128 pages.

El Antichristo y El Nuevo Orden Mundial

How to Grow in Jesus

This booklet is something like Steps to Christ in contemporary language. The full title is How to Grow in Jesus: Sanctification Made Simple. It is part of Pacific Press's "Discovery" series that was designed for use by pastors, evangelists, and lay persons to share with people they are studying with. It explains in simple language the relationship between faith and works, how to over-come temptation, and how Jesus relates to us during the process. It has 28 pages.

What Happens When You Die?

Most non-Adventists find it easier to accept our teaching about the Sabbath than they do our teaching about the state of the dead. A key issue relative to the state of the dead is whether the Bible teaches that human beings have an immortal "soul" that survives the death of the body in a conscious state. This 32-page book provides New Testament evidence that it does not. The full title is What Happens When You Die? What the New Testament Teaches About Life After Death.

Yet Will I Serve Him

This book is a collection of stories, most of which were originally printed in Guide and Insight magazines. The book was first published by Southern Publishing Association with the title Witnesses Through Trial. Each story is about a Christian whose demeanor in a very difficult situation led another person to an understanding of truth. In some cases these persons accepted the truth and acted on it. In others they did not. Most of the stories are very dramatic. They take place in many parts of the world and in different times. One story is "other-worldly." The book has 11 stories and 128 pages.

How to Handle Fatigue

A study several years ago showed that more than 50 percent of all persons admitted to a hospital listed fatigue as one of their initial complaints. Most people, when they feel tired, think they need rest. Not necessarily. They may just need a brisk walk or a good drink of water! This book explains both physical and emotional fatigue and provides practical suggestions for dealing with each one. It has 32 pages.
